Kaylin is currently a first-year M.S. Health Informatics student under the supervision of Dr. Terika McCall.

Kaylin graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with B.S. Computer Science and B.A. Linguistics in 2022, also with Sustainability Studies and Statistics minors. She is always motivated by her interest in interdisciplinary research involving health issues and is passionate about how technology, specifically machine learning and natural language processing, could be applied to analyze and resolve health issues in various aspects. During her senior year in college, she worked on a project analyzing public sentiment towards COVID-19 vaccinations based on social media data from Twitter. Kaylin joined the Consumer Health Informatics Lab in Fall 2022, where she is working in the IMHOTEP project, which involves analysis of mental health related to the COVID-19 pandemic through social network analysis on Twitter. She is also participating in another extending branch of the study, which extracts data from the American Census Survey and analyzes patterns of multiple social determinants under the influence of the pandemic.
Fun Fact
I am part of an a capella group called Contour on campus. And I used to work as a Ropes Course facilitator in college:)
